The MAKER
Pimpernel was born and raised in Germany by a British mother and German father. She grew up in an artistic environment, learning all sorts of techniques and traditions from a young age. Her Grandmother, an exquisite lady, had extensive knowledge of gemstones and different styles of Jewellery. She would often bring out her treasure box when visiting, encouraging a young Pimpernel to try on different pieces and relay the wonderful stories and memories they invoked in her.
Ever since then, the fascination for gold and coloured gemstones is something that never diminished. So much so, Pimpernel started her first Jewellery making business at 11 years old, creating polymer clay and crystal Bijoux that got sold locally at a monthly market.
Over the years whilst living, working and studying in different countries she continued to immerse herself in making, learning new skills and working with new types of material. The dream of becoming a fully qualified goldsmith never left, and after study she graduated in Glasgow, Scotland. Her studies included Jewellery Design and Making, Gemmology and Lapidary.
Upon leaving Glasgow she returned to France, her favourite place, and opened her Atelier in 2020. It is set in a beautiful forest in Dordogne where she draws her inspirations from nature and the infinite palette of colours that surround her.
